Mara Jade (as Arica- Blue dancing dress)

Arica was the alias used by Mara Jade when she infiltrated Jabba’s Palace in 4 ABY.  Disguised as a dancer, her goal was to get close enough to Luke Skywalker to kill him, as Palpatine had ordered her to.

1. Dress:

a. Sleeveless top made of black fishnet material.

b. The top has a blue fabric applique sewed onto the chest.  The applique resembles a pair of “wings” with five finger shapes extending from each side of the applique.  In the center of the applique, there is a black stitched circular design with a line going down through the center.  There are also two black stitched triangular designs on the top of each wing.

c. Two skirt panels (made of the same blue fabric as the chest applique) that are ankle length.  The skirt panels are front and back, but still connected to each other on the sides.  The pieces of the skirt connected at the sides have decorative belt loops (one at each side. A second belt loop on each side is optional).  The skirt panels must be of a fabric that drapes and flows nicely.

2. Cape:

a. The cape is a wide rectangular cape that can be made of the same fabric as the skirt and chest applique, or it may be sheer.

b. Two thin, black or silver elastic bands hold the cape to the costumer’s upper arm (one band per arm) and two silver bracelets connect the cape to the costumer’s wrists (one bracelet per wrist).

3. Leggings/stockings:

a. The leggings/stockings are black in color.

b. They should begin at mid-thigh length and reach the ankles

4. Circlet:

a. The circlet is thin and silver.

b. Circlet should encircle the forehead.

c. The circlet has decorative gems located on each temple.

5. Hair:

b. The hair may reach from the shoulders to mid-back in length.

1.  Black or silver sandals.  These are recommended (but not required) while trooping to protect the costumer’s feet

3. Garter belts at the top of each legging/stocking.  The garter belts are black and have decorative silver, oval-shaped designs spaced among the belt.
