CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

KOTOR I Generic Jedi Generic Jedi Knights Of The Old Republic from the computer game.

 

REQUIRED ITEMS

 

 

1. Outer Tunic

a. Double breasted style front where the right front panel overlaps the left front panel.

b. Collar is approximately 2-3 inches wide. (Dark Blue version is without a collar)

c. Rectangular shoulder epaulettes that extend over the shoulder seam.

d. Lower OT or skirt which wraps around the hips, left panel overlapping the right panel. The pieces are tapered from belt-length on one hip to mid-thigh on the other hip, forming a shallow upside-down “V” shape in front. In back the wrap pieces extend to approximately knee length and should overlap to have a slit up the center back to below the butt then curve into tapering back to belt-length at the hip. The left side of the wrap is still the top layer of the wrap in back. Each side of the skirt appears as one piece (for a left and right side pieces) and may be attached to the upper portion of the OT or worn as a separate component (for ease of construction). This seam or junction between the upper and lower OT pieces should be covered by the belt. Optional: there may be trim approximately .5-1 inch wide around the bottom edge of the lower OT/skirt.

e. Sleeves are relatively form fitting and may be truncated to fit within forearm braces or guards.

f. Fabric should be a solid color and matte. Tunic fabric may be smooth or have a homespun or woven texture.

2. Inner Tunic

a. Shirt with wide, scooped neckline that allows the top of the Under Tunic to be clearly visible beneath it.

b. May be a false inner tunic where a triangle of fabric snaps into the “V” between the right and left panels of the OT.

c. Fabric should be a solid color and matte. Tunic fabric may be smooth or have a homespun texture.

3. Under Tunic

a. Short Mandarin-style collar or a short mock or pseudo turtle neck collar; collar may open in the center front, wrap around, have a seamed closure, or be a seamless stretch fabric pull-over. Zippers, snaps, or other closures used should not be visible.

b. May be a full shirt, a false under tunic, or dickey.

c. Fabric should be a solid color and matte. Tunic fabric may be smooth or have a homespun texture.

4. Pants

a. Form fitting pants (but not skin tight) that are tucked into the boots.

b. Pockets are allowable but should be covered by the lower part of the outer tunic.

5. Belt, KOTOR Style, leather or leather-like material

a. A wider inner belt under a narrow outer (thinner) belt.

b. Narrow outer belt is held in place by various decorative leather panels and side hinges of metal or painted to resemble metal.

c. Snaps or rivets are used to secure the leather panels holding the inner belt in place.

d. Belt should match the color scheme of the boots.

e. The color scheme of the belt may be embellished with similar colors used in the OT.

6. Boots, leather or leather-like material

a. No rubber boots allowed.

b. Generally plain style boots extending above the top of the calf, but not over the knee.

c. Top extension-type portions and straps around the ankles are allowed.

d. Buckles are permitted but should complement the boot and not detract from the overall look of the Jedi costume.

e. Boots should match the color scheme of the belt and may be embellished with similar colors used in the OT.

f. Low-heeled 1 – 1 1/2 inches maximum. Spike heels are not permitted.

7. Forearm Braces/Gloves

Generic KotOR I Jedi must have either forearm bracers, forearm wraps, or long gloves that extend from mid forearm to the wrist. a. Forearm Bracers: Plain in design, form fitting, and wrapping fully around the forearm (seam for closure is permitted on the “inside” of the forearm). No lacing, clasps, grommets, or other external closures should be visible.

b. Forearm Wraps: Plain in design and forearm neatly wrapped as to appear as forearm braces.

c. Long Gloves: Solid color, plain gloves extending to mid forearm. Gloves may be leather, suede, or other non-shiny leather-like materials. Cloth gloves are not permitted.

d. Optional: KotOR I generic Jedi with forearm bracers or forearm wraps may also have gloves under the bracers or wraps. Gloves should extend up the arm past the wrist so that no skin is visible at the wrist. Gloves should match the color of the bracers/wraps.

8. Lightsaber

a. No toy lightsabers are permitted (or Ultimate FX short saber).

b. The lightsaber may be a static prop (hilt only). Attached blade, LED lights and sound effects are allowed, but not required.

c. Metal hilt or custom fabricated lightsaber hilt painted to resemble metal.

d. Blade colors accepted are: blue, green, yellow, orange, white and violet. No red, pink or black blades.

e. No movie-era “hero” lightsabers of face characters may be used.

f. Generic KotOR I Jedi may carry one or two standard lightsabers or a single double-bladed lightsaber.

g. Optional: lightsaber may hang from the belt with either a covertex button and clip or a D-ring and hook.

9. Color scheme

a. Outer tunic may be earth tones including shades of brown, gray, cream, and white, as well as dark blue or red-orange. Collars on the OT and trim around the bottom of the tunic may be a complimentary color to the OT. Trim around the bottom of the tunic is optional. Dark red collar/trim may only be used in conjunction with the red-orange OT.

b. Pants may be earth tones including shades of brown, gray, cream, white, and black as well as dark blue (if paired with the blue OT) or medium orange (if paired with the red-orange OT).

c. Inner tunic may be earth tones including shades of brown, gray, cream, white, black, as well as dark blue.

d. Under tunic may be earth tones including shades of brown, gray, cream, white, black, as well as dark blue, or light mauve.

e. Boots, belt, epaulets, arm bracers, and gloves should match. These may be medium to dark brown or black. Gloves may be dark blue when matching dark blue OT. Boots, belt, and gloves/bracers/wraps may have details in dark coordinating colors with the OT.
